New Year's resolutions for 2024
A new year is dawning and it's a good time to reflect on yourself and what you want to achieve.

I actually have a lot of hope for the year 2024. Even the number is somehow special. Somehow it radiates something positive! Plus, it's a leap year.
For a variety of reasons, I haven't really gotten around to the things I actually wanted to do in the last few years. Some personal circumstances got in the way, but some things also took up far too much time in everyday life. The years of Corona didn't leave me unscathed either. It still irritates me to this day how much time has passed while at the same time so little was possible. So I've been thinking about what I want to achieve this year.
Above all, I want to delegate more work. I am a person who always tries to solve everything myself. I don't shy away from anything.
Overall, this is of course an advantage, because you learn a wide range of skills - and you can always make use of them. But you then just have less time for the important things in life. Work or desires may accumulate and in the long run this simply leads to mental stress.
I have already implemented this resolution for the first time with this blog. For now I'm using the Ghost CMS , which I liked because it's based on Node.js and handlebars as a template engine under the hood. In my case, I host it myself. These are both technologies that I am familiar with and which I like. Maybe I'll build my own blog software at some point, but for now it's better than nothing.
There are also some software projects that I want to create this year. I already have a lot of ideas and I'm very excited to see what comes of them. If I find the time, I could maybe try out a new language - Maybe Go? Or a frontend framework? We will see :)
Then I want to travel extensively this year. First and foremost to be able to really switch off and also to simply be able to make many new, exciting discoveries. I will definitely report!
And last but not least, my Piper - my model airplane, which unfortunately crashed last year, should be brought back to life. It's definitely going to be a lot of work, but it's worth it!
The year is full of challenges and exciting moments. I look forward to a new 2024 with confidence!
